Aveda aimed to create a social media movement that honors the vital role of mother figures in our lives, recognizing them as the original influencers. The campaign featured stories from a mother-daughter pair and encouraged Aveda’s community to share their experiences with influential maternal figures using the hashtag #originalinfluencer. Aveda highlighted heartwarming anecdotes from their followers, showcasing how mothers significantly shape our perceptions of beauty. The campaign was launched on Mother's Day with digital and print materials, along with a global guide for various communication channels.
